It's the end of the 70s in suburban Southern California and newly-turned 13-year-old Eliza Mills witnesses with angst as a lumber company chops down her beloved tree, her first best friend. This tree where she climbed to the very top, sat and thought and wondered. Now what will she do? Who will listen, who will help, who will make everything okay again?
