Endocrine disruptors are chemical compounds that, among other harmful effects, cause birth defects in humans and animals. They include DES, an anti-nausea drug used in the 1950s during pregnancy, and may be found in over 70 common chemicals ranging from pesticides to plastics. This book looks at recent developments in the area and examines screening/monitoring methods and analytical techniques.
