The ongoing paradigm change in regard to the use of energy, its efficient usage and the consumption of resources is giving rise to new light systems and lighting appliances. The goal of this book is to develop temporary light spaces that re-interpret the existing urban environment on a seasonal basis or over a cycle of several years. Wolfgang Rang studied architecture at the Technische Universität Darmstadt and at the University of Southern California, UCLA, Los Angeles. In 1980 he founded an architecture firm with Michael Landes (Norbert Berghof joined in 1981). Since 1996, he has been running his own architectural practice - Atelier Wolfgang Rang. He also teaches at the TU Darmstadt and FH Frankfurt universities.
