She is the author of Let's Get Financially Fit: A Money Guide for Youth, a practical resource designed to equip young people with the tools to build a strong financial foundation. Kayla holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting & Finance, which serves as the foundation for her work in education, finance and leadership.

Beyond her work as an author, she co-leads the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) initiative at her workplace, connecting diverse talent with opportunities and mentoring students pursuing careers in the industry.

As a business owner, she provides bookkeeping and tax planning to childcare centers and small business owners, helping them manage their finances and focus on growth.
