The Book of the Twelve contains an abundance of passages that discuss ancient cities (Samaria, Bet-El, Jerusalem, Ninive, Babel, among others) and their identity. Wide in scope, this volume demonstrates the sensitivity and critical awareness shown by prophetic tradition circles as they observed processes of urbanization that were very much double-edged.
