Written for complete beginners, this primer is intended to help boaters maintain their engines and get them going again should they fail. Starting with an explanation of how gasoline engines work, the author goes on to examine the fuel, lubrication and cooling systems. Power transmissions and electrics are also covered, as are winterizing, motor installation, and troubleshooting. Although directed largely at yacht owners, the advice rendered is also suitable for motorcruisers up to 100-horsepower.

Don Seddon is both an engineer and a sailor.  This makes him uniquely qualified to write this book.
