Jodie Goes to the Zoo

Jodie goes to the zoo is the result of a creative exercise participated by young author, Shastra Selvananthan. Shastra was five then and she narrated the story as part of the creative exercise. She then wanted to share her story with her friends and suggested it should be presented as a book. Shastra revisited the narration a year later when she could read and write better. She sought the help of her sister and grandpa when she designed the book and duly acknowledged them in her book. She made sure that she had a say in the colour of the cover and the photos that were added as part of the content. She also learnt to read the book herself before it was published so that she can present her book in her show and tell session at school. Shastra's interest to learn to read has been the remarkable result of her creative exercise conducted by Gemz Creative Arts.
