As one of ten children born to farmers in southern Minnesota, young Doretta never had expected much from life. But when, at the age of seventeen, she accepted Jesus Christ into her life, the world as she knew it changed forever. Soon after, Doretta left home to enroll at Northwestern Bible and Missionary Training School (now Northwestern Bible College), in St. Paul, Minnesota. There, she met and fell in love with a passionate young man named Zeral Lewis Brown, and together the young couple accepted God's call to 'œgo into all the world'� and spread His teaching.
