I Dream Of Egypt

"I Dream Of Egypt" is a firsthand account of author D.S. Siceloff's trip to Egypt that focuses on experiencing a developing country for the very first time, friendships old and new, loss and recovery, writing, and writer's block.

D. S. Siceloff graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a B.A. in English. Afterwards he moved to New York City to pursue acting, and also learned that he didn't like acting one bit. A move back to North Carolina found him studying computer programming before he landed a full-time job as a photogrammetrist, a digital mapmaker. He eventually found a job as a database administrator, staring at a computer screen all day long, until the economic slump in 2001 left him unemployed. Wondering what to do with his life, he remembered that he had an English degree and found a job teaching language arts in high school. After the novelty of teaching came to a close, he returned to school to study teeth and find a more hands-on job.
D. S. Siceloff actually began writing short stories along with his first novel (not Yuri And The Dragon Key) in 2000. An early draft of this unfinished novel (Man In The Box) with commentary written in red by David Brin remains on his bookshelf to this day. And, no, he has no plans of ever finishing it.
D. S. Siceloff lives in North Carolina when he is not traveling the world. He enjoys roadside attractions, birding, and power metal. Oh, does he ever love power metal!
I Dream Of Egypt is his first work of nonfiction (and not necessarily his last). However, a task is at hand that requires him to put all his efforts into completing The Kon's Wrath Saga, a series consisting of 5 +1 books.
D. S. is currently writing Jupiter Rises, the sequel to Yuri And The Dragon Key and Savage Savior.
