ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

In a decadent Italian neighborhood, an unexpected love grows like a flower in a unfertile lands.

In the 1980s, the summers in the old neighborhood of Bari are spent running through white alleys where children play and chase each other through labyrinths of hung sheets stretched among the aroma of food escaping from the windows. Twelve-year-old Maria is small, dark, and has wild features; her insolent attitude has earned her the nickname of “Badblood”. She lives in a land without time, in a neighborhood where abuse is inflicted daily and where it is very difficult to escape from. And, in spite of it all, she is not willing to submit to norms that she does not respect or agree with. Her only support is Michele, the Sinsangre clan’s youngest son. Despite hostility and resentment between the two families, a feeling of delicate, almost brotherly friendship emerges between them that eventually turns into love. A love that, although impossible, takes them away from the resentment and bitterness of the rest of the world.
