Thieves rarely make their plundering moves at Christmas parties and never had the Madison, Wisconsin branch of the Magill Family had anything stolen. Yet a $50,000 diamond necklace hiding as an ornament on the Magill tree disappeared without a trace, as the Magills hosted a Christmas party for friends and co-workers. Jake, their dog, thought it was a party for him, too. Hesitant to call the police in case the necklace had been removed for a joke by one of the guests or even worse by a thieving guest, the party was ending in sadness and concern as the joy of the party disappeared at the close.It turned out to be another case for Grandpa Niall and the B.E.A.Wares and right at home too. Lisa, the B.E.A.Wares mom, and her close friend Mike were anxious to have everything just right since it was their first Christmas party together. Now it was very disturbing to think that there was a thief or a thoughtless trickster in their midst. Would the evening end in sad disappointment?
